The coaches behind the programme
Cole Skuse
An Ipswich Town legend with over 600 professional appearances for Ipswich, Brighton, and Bristol City, Cole is a beloved figure in East Anglian football. His career as a central midfielder gives him deep insight into the demands of professional performance — knowledge he passes directly to St Joseph's students, instilling the technical quality, work ethic, and competitive mentality required at the highest level.
Louis Henman-Mason
An FA qualified coach and former player for Ipswich Town FC and Dereham Town FC, Louis works on the day-to-day technical and tactical development of players within St Joseph's programme. He draws on his own playing experience to give students practical insight into what professional and academy clubs are looking for, combining quality coaching with mentorship and pastoral support.
Ian Kershaw
Ian oversees the strength and conditioning, speed, agility, and coordination elements of St Joseph's TASS-accredited dual career programme. His expertise in sports performance science complements the technical football coaching, ensuring students develop the physical attributes — power, speed, and movement efficiency — needed to compete at the highest level while balancing the demands of academic study.
Fred Wenham
Fred manages the strategic development of sport across St Joseph's College and oversees the school's TASS-accredited dual career programme. His leadership ensures the football programme is properly integrated with academic commitments, and that students benefit from the official recognition and support structure available to talented athletes in full-time education — one of only two independent boarding schools in the UK to hold this accreditation.
