Repton School

Repton School
Repton School is one of England's oldest and most distinguished boarding schools, founded in 1557 in the historic village of Repton, Derbyshire. Set within 40 acres of grounds that include a 12th-century priory, the school combines centuries of academic and sporting tradition with genuinely modern coaching infrastructure. Repton holds a unique place in football history as one of the institutions involved in codifying the rules of the modern game, and today it continues that legacy through one of the most thoughtfully designed football programmes in the independent sector.
The football pathway is built around the individual. Every player is assessed on motivation and ability at the outset, ensuring they are placed on the right pathway from the start, whether their goal is enjoyment and school representation or progression towards the professional game. Training takes place up to four times per week, combining technical development with strength and conditioning, performance analysis, yoga and sports psychology in a model that reflects how elite academies operate.
An Elite Performance Environment
Repton's football programme is directed by Luke Webb, a UEFA A Licence coach and former professional with Arsenal, Coventry City and Hereford United. Under his leadership, the programme has achieved national titles and built a reputation as one of the strongest in independent schooling. Luke oversees dedicated boys and girls pathways, and brings direct professional experience of what clubs at the highest level are looking for in young players.
Players train up to four times per week in a model that integrates technical sessions with strength and conditioning, video analysis, yoga and sports psychology. The programme enters HUDL Independent Schools League and ISFA competitions, and the school's 3G pitches ensure training is unaffected by season or weather. The emphasis throughout is on individual development within a high-performing team environment.

Where Liverpool FC Train in Summer
Repton's facilities are of a standard that attracts professional clubs. Liverpool FC use the school's grounds for their pre-season summer training camps, a testament to the quality of the pitches, spaces and infrastructure available to Repton students every day of the school year.
