Fleetwood Town International Football Academy
Fleetwood Town International Football Academy
Fleetwood Town International Football Academy (FTIFA) offers ambitious players a genuine, less-traditional route into the professional game, built inside a real English Football League environment. Players train and compete at Poolfoot Farm, Fleetwood Town FC's headquarters on Lancashire's Fylde Coast, working under qualified coaches and testing themselves against academy-level opposition. The academy's ethos, develop the person and challenge the player, runs through everything it does: it is as much about maturity, character and settling into life away from home as it is about technical and tactical development. For a family placing a child from overseas, that blend of a professional club setting and genuine pastoral care is the real draw.
Alongside the football, FTIFA runs a Study and Play pathway so players can progress their education without stepping away from full-time training. Through its partnership with Blackpool and The Fylde College, accredited by Lancaster University, students can work towards a Certificate of Higher Education in Business Management across two study days a week and train the other four. The goal throughout is progression, whether that is a professional contract, a place in the academy's own competitive setup, or a scholarship and university route supported by its education partners.
Coaching & Development
FTIFA's flagship offer is a full-time development model. On the Study and Play pathway players train four days a week and study two, while the Pro Experience and full-season programmes run as full-time football blocks, from four weeks up to a complete season. Training and home fixtures are staged on the FIFA-standard artificial pitches at Poolfoot Farm, the same complex used by Fleetwood Town FC. Coaching is led by a qualified team holding UEFA A and B Licences with professional-club experience, supported by a dedicated strength and conditioning lead. The facilities at Poolfoot Farm include the FIFA-standard AstroTurf pitches, an indoor dome and a modern gym.
