V23 Programme

V23 Programme
For most aspiring footballers, the end of secondary education doesn’t coincide neatly with the chance to start a professional career. V23 is a full-time programme in Market Harborough, built for players who have just left school and want to spend a term, a half season or a full season doing one thing only: becoming a footballer. Young players need more time to develop, in a supportive, high-performance environment built around exposure and scouting opportunity as their game grows. V23 exists to give players that space to develop, grow, perfect and proceed.
The mission is simple: all-round exposure. Every player is encouraged and expected to progress through their performance levels towards an elite standard, training twice a day, five days a week, under a coaching team led by Micky Adams, and competing regularly in fixtures and showcase events built to put them in front of scouts and representatives from professional clubs. Alongside the football, V23 places real weight on discipline, lifestyle and personal development, because what a player does away from football matters just as much as what they do on the pitch — and because clubs are watching both.

Coaching & Development
Players train twice a day, five days a week, combining on-pitch sessions with strength and conditioning for a consistent and intensive development schedule. Sessions develop players technically, tactically, physically and mentally through a long-term player development model, covering technical drills, position-specific work, tactical understanding and game-based practices, alongside regular gym sessions and performance analysis. Players regularly compete in fixtures where scouts and representatives from professional clubs may be in attendance, and additional showcase fixtures are organised to maximise exposure. Based on performance, attitude and development, players may be recommended directly for trial opportunities, and those who consistently meet the required standards are supported in taking the next step within the professional or high-level football pathway.
The 2026/27 season starts in September and ends in June, with a Christmas, and Easter break. Players attend a Welcome Reception at Brooke House College, collect their accommodation keys, and report to the Harborough Town training ground the following morning.

Where Champions Train
Training and home matches are played at Harborough Town Football Club — a club on the cusp of full-time professional status in the National League North, and a genuine stepping stone into England’s professional leagues. It’s another sign that everything around V23 is built to get players seen.
The coaches behind the programme
Micky Adams
Micky has enjoyed nearly half a century in top-class football. He played 438 professional games for the likes of Coventry City, Leeds United, Southampton and Fulham, and as a UEFA Pro Licence holder went on to manage Fulham, Brentford, Brighton, Leicester City, Coventry City, Port Vale and Sheffield United, winning promotion with four of them and taking Leicester City into the Premier League in 2003. Micky is a fountain of football knowledge who has mentored and guided thousands of players at the highest level, and he leads V23 on match days.
Ashley Foyle
A UEFA qualified coach who has managed within a number of professional football academy organisations. A former professional footballer himself, Ashley began his career with clubs such as Chesterfield and Accrington Stanley before playing across the English non-league system. He now uses that experience, and his strong connections within the game, to support players in securing trials and progressing into professional football environments.
Track record
Market Harborough, Leicestershire (East Midlands)
V23 is based in Market Harborough, a small, typically British market town of around 30,000 people, one hour north of London by train. It offers a safe and welcoming environment with a strong sense of community, and it is compact enough that supermarkets, gyms, cafés and leisure facilities are all within walking distance. The surrounding countryside gives players somewhere quieter to recover and switch off between sessions. Training and home matches take place at Harborough Town Football Club, and the Welcome Reception and college facilities sit nearby at Brooke House College.
Investment
V23 runs as a flexible programme — a single term, a half season or a full season away from the classroom — so players can take exactly the length of break from education they need to focus fully on becoming a footballer.
