Future Pro Football Academy

Future Pro Football Academy
Established in 2012 by UEFA Licensed coach Demir Vavan, Future Pro Football Academy in Coventry has quietly become one of the UK's most effective post-16 football development pathways. Based at Coventry Sphinx FC with access to the Alan Higgs Centre, home of Coventry City FC's own academy, the programme offers full-time, five-day-per-week football training alongside nationally recognised qualifications. Over 200 athletes have progressed to semi-professional and professional football. The coaching staff carry credentials that few academies can match: coaches who have directly developed players including Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho, Harvey Barnes, and Callum Wilson.

The coaches behind the programme
Demir Vavan
A UEFA Licensed coach with over a decade of professional academy experience at AFC Bournemouth, Birmingham City, and Northampton Town, Demir founded Future Pro in 2012 with a clear mission: create a genuine second pathway for talented players who fall through the professional system. His vision and experience in professional football development have made Future Pro one of the UK's most respected post-16 academies.
Mark Muddyman
A UEFA A Licensed coach who directly coached Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho during their development years at Birmingham City and Watford academies, Mark is one of the most respected talent developers in the UK. His record of identifying and developing players who went on to become world stars gives Future Pro's students access to coaching expertise that very few academies in the country can offer.
David Phillips
A former Wales Senior International with over 600 professional appearances, David has seen every level of the game from the inside. A UEFA A Licensed coach, he previously developed players including Callum Wilson and Will Hughes during his coaching career. His international playing background and deep tactical knowledge make him a uniquely experienced coach for Future Pro's students aiming for professional football.
Mark O'Leary
A UEFA A Licensed coach with 15 years of professional academy experience at Lincoln City, Hull City, Leicester City, and Derby County, Mark built Future Pro's operational infrastructure from the ground up. He oversees training schedules, player monitoring systems, and the network of professional scouts and agents who attend the academy's showcase events to evaluate and sign Future Pro graduates.
Tom Bates
A UEFA A Licensed coach and performance psychologist with over 20 years working with elite athletes at Aston Villa, Brentford, and West Bromwich Albion, Tom helps Future Pro's players develop the mental resilience, concentration, and competitive mindset that separates professional footballers from those who fall short. His work addresses the psychological demands of elite sport that physical and technical coaching alone cannot resolve.
