IDA Sheffield
IDA Sheffield
Inspire Development Academy offers two distinct pathways for ambitious players aged 16–25. The Degree + Football pathway combines full undergraduate or postgraduate study at the University of Sheffield — a Russell Group institution ranked in the world's top 100 — with daily elite training and competitive fixtures. The Gap Year & Performance pathway is a focused 6–12 month programme for overseas players looking to break into English football, train at the highest level outside the professional pyramid, and secure a route into semi-professional or professional clubs. Both routes are delivered from September through May under UEFA-licensed coaches with Premier League experience, using world-class facilities at the University of Sheffield.
Coaching & Development
Training runs full-time from September through May, with a professional-standard weekly schedule including technical, tactical, S&C and recovery sessions delivered at the University of Sheffield's Goodwin Sports Centre and 3G/grass facilities. The programme competes at the highest level outside the professional football pyramid, with 20–30 fixtures per season against professional and semi-professional opposition — creating genuine opportunities for players to be seen and progress. The staff is UEFA-licensed and includes coaches with Premier League and professional playing backgrounds. Players are supported by strength and conditioning, video analysis, sports science and nutrition provision through the university's high-performance environment, and benefit from tailored showcase fixtures and direct pathways into professional clubs and international scholarship routes.

Track record
Sheffield, South Yorkshire (North of England)
Sheffield is England's fourth-largest city, set on the edge of the Peak District and known for its strong sporting and university culture. The campus and training base are within the city, well served by direct rail links to London (around 2 hours) and Manchester (under an hour), and within driving distance of two international airports. The setting suits international families who want a credible English city with a lower cost of living and a safer feel than London.
